I begin this blog as an assignment to be completed for one of my college courses. My hope is that I will continue this blog throughout my schooling and eventual teaching career.
Reading is my subject of interest because it is something you use for the rest of your life. We begin learning the early concepts of reading with phonics. Phonics is defined as a method of teaching reading by associating letters with their sounds. This is taught in most preschools to prepare children for kindergarten. Unfortunately, those children who stay home with mom before kindergarten are usually unprepared for school.
I hope to be able to give insight to new techniques and tools for reinforcing the lessons taught in school. Reading is the key to the door of life. Without it you cannot get very far.
